Minecraft is a unique world-building game which has spread like wild fire among teens and tweens. The game is simple in nature, but becomes more complex and rewarding as the user learns. Modifications can expand and alter the game, allowing infinite possibilities for libraries to control the game's landscape and context. This results in creative, inventive programming that brings teens into the library and provides them with opportunities for entertainment, socializing, and learning about computers. From battles to scavenger hunts to building competitions, with a few simple tools and a bit of computer savvy libraries can offer exciting Minecraft based programs of their own. We will discuss why Minecraft is an amazing way to bring teens into the library and, using equipment from our own library, we will demonstrate how the Moncton Public Library created our Minecrafting Club, what worked, what we learned, and what we are planning for the future.
